Sourced from the Sharktooth block, the Shiraz vines are rooted in alluvial soil scattered with many stones. The grapes are picked over three passes to ensure only perfectly ripe fruit is retained. It receives a 36-hour cold soak before fermentation, building the brightness and depth of flavours. Fruit characters therefore tend more towards the red and purple fruits of the spectrum, intermingled with lifted spice and an alluring choc-mintiness. It receives 24 months maturation in a combination of new and seasoned French oak.

Cellaring potential is definitely long-term, but the immediate presentation of this wine is always plump, sweet and full, with ample fruit and oak present. Lifted aromatics of blackberry fruits are complemented by oak nuances of mocha and spice derived from oak. This is a full bodied, rich and intense Shiraz with powerful red berry fruits and minted chocolate. Lifted spice intertwines with silky tannins that carry a generosity of fruit sweetness and exquisite length across the palate. The brightness of fruit is long and textured with seamless integration of oak finishing with a savoury earthy chocolate richness.
