Vallepicciola’s pure Cabernet Franc grows in the Casuccio Basso vineyard in the Pievesciata subzone of Castelnuovo Berardegna. The fruit was harvested by hand, then macerated and began fermentation in cement tanks at controlled temperatures. The wine was racked to French oak barriques for malolactic fermentation, then was matured in barriques (70% new) for 12 months.
