This lively and stylish Bourgogne rouge is a blend of 70% Pinot Noir from Yonne in cool northern Burgundy, and 30% Gamay from Regnie in the deep south of the region.
A destemmed and unoaked style, this is a fruit-forward wine despite the proportion of cool climate fruit. Black cherry, ripe plum and blueberry pastry notes to create a dark and resonant bouquet balanced by tart cranberry and lifted savoury aromas of sage, bresaola and spice. Crunchy, red fruits dominate the front palate, fresh acidity balanced by a dusting of fine tannin. Dark fruits and sappy nuances entwine with a touch of salinity. It’s a stylish and approachable example of a Pinot Noir and Gamay blend that enraptures and refreshes at the same time.
