Shiraz was planted at the Stone Well vineyard in 2001, with careful consideration given to clone, site and soils. The east‑west row orientation helps protect the fruit from the harsh afternoon sun, while the north‑westerly aspect and red‑brown clay over chalk provide natural balance. This late‑ripening site maintains healthy canopies through to harvest, delivering pure, well‑balanced fruit with a strong sense of place. Partial destemming with a 25% whoel-bunch component, maceration, warm fermentation and gentle cap management are utilised before the wine is racked to French foudres and seasoned barrels. After around 15 months maturation in wood it sees further bottle age before release.

“Super fragrant and lifted with oodles of bunchy spice fluttering above the pure plum, black cherry and blackberry fruits. There’s an exotic element here, with Asian spices, maybe a waft of washed rind cheese and amaro herbs along with licorice, chocolate, earth and purple floral notes. Spacious and pure on the palate with grippy kinetic tannins and a distinctly moreish vibe.” 94 points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
