Tscharke Shiraz Shiraz Shiraz

The name representing the three vineyards from which a single variety was sourced, fruit was harvested from Greenock Creek, Gnadenfrei, Stone Well at ripeness, with each parcel vinified separately. After three months élevage on lees, the components were blended then returned to a selection of French foudres (3000L) and large vats for around 12 months before bottling.

The bouquet balances aromatic lift and power with a fabric of interlaced red fruits, oak, tobacco and spice tones. On the palate, there is richness and dense palate weight. Marzipan and ripe dark fruits contrast the firm structure, savoury tannins and lively acidity. Already showing great balance, this wine will age gracefully for 10 years or more.

“Three different Marananga vineyards from three different generations. That’s very cool indeed. Super-juicy fruits of plum, boysenberry and blueberry with layers of spice, earth, purple flowers and some distant dried herbs. Pure and medium bodied, tannins super powdery and some nice crunch to the acid profile, finishing blue-fruited and endearing.” 92 points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
