Grenache (~40%), Shiraz (30%) and Mourvèdre (30%) are harvested from both of Tscharke’s north and south blocks of the Gnadenfrei vineyard, selected at optimum ripeness and vinified separately (with some parcels fermented on stalks and with whole bunches). The wine has a short rest in a combination of terracotta and seasoned puncheons before the blend is assembled and matured as a whole for six months in foudre.

“The mighty Barossa GSM, some subtle bunchy gear in the mix with an enticing nose of blueberry, satsuma plum and red cherry fruits with some top notes of raspberry coulis. There is a creamy aspect to this wine that I love. Berry cream. Jasmine and ginger spice too, with touches of cola and earth. The tannins and acidity are chalky and fine, and the wine slowly retreats with harmonious aplomb.” 93 points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion
