The Kirche is purely estate-grown Shiraz and Cabernet, principally from the Kirche vineyard in Krondorf Village, a block renowned for Cabernet and Shiraz consistently at the top end of the quality spectrum. Put together as a delicate puzzle, the blend is a mix of co-fermented and single varietal ferments that came together only after oak maturation. A mix of French oak and American oak were used (AROUND 80/20% respectively), with around 30% new oak.

“The wine is both generous and fresh, with good energy and serious length. A line of bright acidity runs the length and there are fine tannins on the finish. Ideally, give the wine two or three years in the cellar before opening and then enjoy it over the following decade. Drink now–2035” 94 points, The Vintage Journal 2026
“Bright crimson with aromas of blackberry, boysenberry and damson plum fruit over hints of brown spice, fruit-and-nut chocolate, pan juices, violets, grilled fig, pastis and earth. Full bodied, with a chalky tannin grip, a core of black fruit daubed in spice, crushed herbs, a touch of bramble and a tight mineral cadence.” 93 points, Dave Brookes, Halliday Wine Companion

“Pristine blackberry, black cherry, dark plum and blackcurrant fruits. Aromatically, the shiraz/cabernet split looks on equal pegging here despite the numbers. Not a hair out of place, with pure black fruits, layers of spice, beautifully judged oak use and a velvety transit across the palate, fine in tannin and looking wonderfully composed.” 96 points, James Halliday Awards Top Rated, Halliday Wine Companion
“A delightful expression of a modern Barossa Cabernet blend all about black fruit purity and restraint rather than power and oak. Fresh and crunchy with cranberry and bramble fruit flavours, refreshing minerality and nicely sculpted tannins” 96 points, Trophy (best Barossa blend), International Wine Challenge 2025
