Giodo La Quinta Rosso Toscana IGT

This single-vineyard Sangiovese is sourced from Giodo’s fifth vineyard (La Quinta), planted on medium-textured soils with a notable pebble content. The wine combines freshness and structure with a distinctly site-driven character. Fermentation includes 20 days of skin contact, fermentation in stainless steel and délestage performed mid-fermentation to enhance extraction and balance. The wine is matured for approximately 12 months in a combination of small and large oak vessels and amphorae, followed by refinement in cement and a further six months in bottle.

2023

Displays bright red cherry, pomegranate and floral aromas, supported by vibrant acidity, fine-grained tannins and an elegant mineral backbone, resulting in a precise, savoury Sangiovese with both immediate appeal and medium-term cellaring potential.

“Sangiovese from the vineyards of Montalcino, with notes of violets and black berries, flanked by tobacco and rosemary; supple in the mouth, the tannins powdery, the acidity fresh, finishing long on notes of red berries and pepper.” 94 points, Vinum

“This impressively bright and straightforward Sangiovese comes from a single vineyard, the fifth (hence “La Quinta”) planted by Carlo Ferrini on the estate. The 2023 combines energy and savouriness with a complexity of milk chocolate, cherry, orange peel and black pepper. Delicious!” 92 points, Decanter
