De’Conti Appassimento 100 x 100 IGT Puglia

A blend of Primitivo, Negroamaro and Sangiovese grapes, varieties common to the south of Italy, has come together with traditional Valpolicella winemaking to produce an appassimento style with distinct Puglian flavour. After a selected harvest, a portion of the grapes were dried for up to 25 days to intensify the sugars and flavours before a slow maceration and fermentation.

The result is a richly coloured and complex wine with deep, dark floral notes of violet contrasted with blood plum, cocoa and tobacco. The palate is full and round, with lashings of sweet spice and muscular structure. Serve with grilled red meats, game or strong hard and blue cheeses.
