Heritage

Cielo e Terra’s origins date back to 1908, when Giovanni Cielo established a small winery in the hills of Vicenza. A century later, the business remains family-led, combining the Cielo family’s entrepreneurial winemaking heritage with the vineyard resources and grower expertise of the Cantine dei Colli Berici cooperative. The partnership, formalised in 1999, created a model that links local growers directly to long-term wine production and brand development, providing both scale and continuity while maintaining a strong connection to place.

Philosophy

The wines of Cielo e Terra are united by a common philosophy: expressing regional character through accessible, quality-focused winemaking. Vineyard selection is central to the process, with fruit sourced from sites best suited to each style. Traditional Italian techniques, including appassimento and extended maturation, are combined with modern cellar practices to enhance consistency, varietal expression and drinkability. The result is a collection of wines that deliver both provenance and value across key consumer segments.

People

Today the company is led by the fourth generation of the Cielo family, including Luca and Pierpaolo Cielo, working alongside a network of long-term grower partners. This collaborative approach combines family stewardship, regional knowledge and technical expertise, ensuring consistency across a portfolio that spans both premium regional wines and internationally recognised brands.

While headquartered in Montorso Vicentino in the Veneto region, the sourcing for these wines extends across several important winegrowing areas. Bericanto Pinot Noir originates in the limestone-rich hills of Vicenza DOC within the Colli Berici zone of Veneto. De’ Conti 100×100 Appassimento and 3 Passo are inspired by southern Italian viticulture of Puglia, where warm climates, abundant sunshine and naturally ripe fruit provide the richness and generosity for which the style is known.
