Produced from the Muscadelle variety, this is named ‘First Plantings’ because Sevenhill was the originator of the variety in the Clare Valley. Sevenhill allows the Muscadelle grapes to hang on the vine until late autumn, when they are rich in sugars and slightly dehydrated. This produces an intense, exotic fortified with malt, spices and nut-butter notes. Heavier in the mouth than the Verdelho, there’s still a bright flavour spectrum here. The blend contains wines from 5 to 40 years of age, and was bottled in 2023.
