Masi Levarie Soave Classico DOC

Levarìe refers to the east-facing slopes of the Soave Classico area, which benefit from the cool morning sun. This is from the Monteforte d’Alpone commune, where the deep soils have a loose texture with large areas of basalt and volcanic rock.
This vintage is 85% Garganega with the remainder Trebbiano di Soave. Soft crushing was followed by crio-maceration of 20% of the grapes, for 24 hours at 5°C. The remaining 80% was fermented traditionally in stainless steel tanks using cultured yeasts. Maturation was for four months in a combination of small stainless steel tanks and seasoned oak (20%).

2023

This presents as a distinctly aromatic version of Soave, bursting with citrus and orange blossom character, backed by almond paste and tropical notes. Beautifully dry with lively acidity, there’s savoury balance and texture to complete the picture.

2022

“Fennel, crushed rocks and lemon pith aromas lead into a savoury-styled core. It’s up-front in its appeal and while it’s not overly complicated it’s a refreshing, savoury white wine.” Recommended, Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review
