The organically certified Colbaraca plot is towards Costalunga where the altitude is higher and the vines face south-west. The nature of this site’s soil and a favourable exposure produce complex and intense Garganega with vibrant acidity, making this one of Masi’s best locations for Soave production. In turn, Masi steps outside the bounds of the lighter contemporary styling of most Soaves, and aims for a wine that is deeper, fuller and more expressive in style.
After a gentle pressing and a 50/50 fermentation in steel and oak, partial malolactic fermentation was allowed, and maturation for just two months in new French barriques. This has given the classically stone-fruited Garganega an almost Chardonnay-styled weight, with toasty wood and bright acidity to balance.

“Bright straw yellow with green reflections. Compact on the nose, ripe pear, vanilla and white pepper. Straightforward and precise on the palate, fresh acidity, juicy and salty, medium-long finish.” 91 points, Falstaff
