Fruit for this wine was sourced predominantly (90%) from The Whitehaven Estate’s home vineyard in the Rapaura area of Marlborough, with a small addition from the lower Wairau Valley. Shoot thinning, leaf plucking, trimming and crop thinning are used to achieve balanced vines and an open, healthy canopy and clean fruit, which in turn provide a more complex and fuller Sauvignon Blanc. To preserve the inherent varietal flavours the wine was vinified entirely in stainless steel.
A fine and elegant wine, this has flavours of grapefruit, lime, white peach and varietal herbaceous notes. Medium bodied with lovely texture, a clean and dry finish leaves the palate fresh.
