Sourced from vineyards surrounding Ortona, San Salvo and Pollutri on Abruzzo’s Adriatic coast, this Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC grows on a mix of clay and limestone soils, oriented southeast. These different fruit sources bring depth to the wine, balancing berry-laden fruit with alpine herbs. After gentle crushing and destemming, the grapes undergo a four‑day cold maceration followed by fermentation in stainless steel, preserving primary fruit purity and regional character. This meticulous process reflects the coastal terroir and the craftsmanship of winemakers Rino Santeusanio and Francesco De Santis.
In the glass, aromas of wild berries lead into a full yet balanced palate, with gentle tannins, vibrant fruit and a clean, moreish finish. This balance of richness and freshness enhances its versatility at the table, pairing beautifully with traditional Italian fare—from risottos and pasta to pork dishes, while retaining an easy-drinking, expressive charm.

“A bright, fresh wine on the nose, with aromas of ripe cherries, tart blackberries and loads of wild thyme and black olive. On the palate, earth and tang stand up against juicy berries, while acid punches past firm tannins.” Best Buy Pick, 89 points, Danielle Calligari, Wine Enthusiast
