Zolla’s Primitivo vines are located between the towns of Sava and Manduria, in the heart of the production area of Primitivo di Manduria. Here, the albarello bush vines bask in the southern Italian sun, to be cooled by the afternoon breezes off the Ionian Sea. The fruit is destemmed before crushing, and vinification is at controlled temperature in stainless steel. The wine is sent to seasoned American and French oak barriques for six months before bottling.
2024
It’s a boldly coloured primitivo with an intense aroma of dark berry fruits. Cherries and blackberries persist on the palate, which is forward, ripe and velvety soft, with a firm and refreshing tannin profile.
