This is 100% Carricante, a native Sicilian grape variety. From Castiglione di Sicilia the Contrade Verzella and Pietramarina, and from Linguaglossa, Contrada Arrigo. The sites are at altitudes between 600 and 750m and are espalier-grown, planted at a density of 6500 vines per hectare. The grapes were hand-harvested and pressed gently before a temperature-controlled fermentation in stainless steel. Aging was in steel on fine lees for four months.
