Coevo is Cecchi’s Super-Tuscan, bringing together fruit from two key areas: Castellina in Chianti, where the Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grow at around 250 metres on medium‑alkaline soils, and Maremma, where Merlot and Petit Verdot sit slightly lower on stony, sandstone‑rich terrain. Each variety and parcel was hand‑picked, double‑sorted and softly pressed before being fermented separately in stainless steel. The wine spent 18 months maturing in barriques and tonneaux, followed by additional time in oak after blending, and then over a year resting in bottle.
Coevo opens with dark‑fruit aromas that feel plush without being heavy. The Cabernet Sauvignon adding richness and a touch of liquorice while Sangiovese brings lift and freshness. Merlot rounds out the mid‑palate with depth and smoothness, and Petit Verdot adds a subtle spice that ties the blend together. On the palate the wine is elegant, silky and layered. It’s a satisfying, well‑composed Tuscan red with real polish and plenty of personality.
