This is 100% Watervale, and an expression of the subregions within it. The blend includes fruit from both Claymore’s younger blocks (20-30 years old) and their historic, 1930s planted Riesling. Blending over three parcels allows a balance between the warmer southern sites (contributing floral notes) and the northern Shankly vineyard (for greater fruit weight and acid vibrancy).

“Some of the vines used for this very youthful but delightfully fresh Riesling from the Watervale sub-region date back to the 1930s. Pale lemon in colour, this is beautifully perfumed, with notes of lemon curd, spices, florals and grapefruit. A fine line of minerals and riverstones in the background as support. There is fine balance and bright acidity, which runs the full journey. Enjoy over the next ten to fifteen years. Stunning value.” 94 points, Ken Gargett, Wine Pilot
“It’s elegant and beautifully scented on the nose, with aromas of green apple, white-fleshed nectarine, fig and lime peel. The palate is concentrated and focused with fine flow, backed by beautifully pitched acidity, making it wonderfully structured and harmonious with a sustained, refined finish.” 94 points, Sam Kim, Wine Orbit
“There’s good texture here which makes for a nice counterpoint to the tangy citrus zing of fruit. The full citrus spectrum is on show with lemon sherbet, grapefruit pith and lime juice and notes of citrus blossom, green apple, lemongrass and hints of ginger. Palate is super dry, crisp as a starched shirt and tangy. Great drive and finish.” 92 points, Australian Vintage Journal 2026
