Cecchi La Mora Vermentino Maremma DOC

Cecchi’s Vermentino is from Maremma Toscana. This DOC only became classified in 2011, and covers the seaside province of Grosseto in the far south of Tuscany. Cecchi’s Vermentino vines grow at around 150m above sea level, on soils of sandstone and decomposing rock. The wine is made simply – the fruit is pressed off skins then sees a cool fermentation in steel tank.

A food-friendly alternative to sauvignon blanc, this has aromas of ripe pear and tropical fruits with floral notes typical of the Maremma region. The palate is fresh and fragrant, light but never sharp, with a slippery texture and bright fruity notes backed by green almonds and summer hay. A touch of minerality rounds off a long, easy finish.
