This is 90% Sangiovese with 10% Canaiolo. The fruit was harvested in two batches, with the majority sent straight to fermentation in steel. A second parcel of more mature-vine fruit was partially dried before being added into the fermented wine. This traditional Tuscan ‘Governo’ process produces wines of smooth and velvety structure, and intense colour.
Luscious in the mouth, with plenty of red fruit flavours, this is the smoothest and easiest to drink of the Cecchi range. It works beautifully with traditional Tuscan antipasti and charcuterie, or with aged hard cheese.
