Estate grown from a single vineyard called Quarry block, this is only made in years when the fruit is found to have the exceptional varietal character and balance to fly solo. It is fermented in 300L barrels and then aged for a further 15 months in French oak.

“Black with a dark, vibrant rim, this is plush, ripe and generous. The nose reveals aromas weaving through mocha, chocolate, licorice, cocoa powder and coffee beans. A seductive texture right through to fine, if slightly drying, tannins. The wine has excellent length and is finely balanced. There is certainly room for further improvement over the coming years, and it should drink well for at least the next dozen or so. A seriously good Shiraz and brilliant value.” 94 points, Wine Pilot

“This is an amiable red wine. Neat, well flavoured and well made. Plum and mulberry flavours mix with briar and mint, all set within a medium-weight context. There’s (vanillin) oak here but it takes a back seat to the freshness of the fruit.” 91 points, Campbell Mattinson, Halliday Wine Companion

“Aromas of plum, red cherry, black tea and chicory root. Medium- to full-bodied with velvety tannins. Juicy and fresh, with easy balance.” 90 points, James Suckling
