This 100% Grillo is grown at 400m above sea level at Tenuta Monte Pietroso in the area of Monreale near Palermo. It’s a site also known as ‘Tramontana’ because of the wind. The soil is sandy and ideally suited to Grillo, bringing forth its natural freshness and elegance. The wine has seen no oak, but the grape itself lends breadth and texture, as did four months lees maturation before bottling, giving forth a white with velvety mouthfeel offset by juicy acidity and vibrant fruit character.

“The nose on this Grillo brings out fruit, from peaches to yellow apples to grapefruit. The palate stays bright with citrus and adds the metallic tang of top soil with wild herbs poking through. This wine is juicy and fun, but focused.” Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast
