Cusumano wines are drawn from seven sites in four regions throughout Sicily, from seaside vineyards to the side of the Etna Volcano. Brothers Alberto and Diego Cusumano, with the help of oenologist Mario Ronco, created the winery in 2001 and after several years the it became a symbol of dynamism and innovation of the Sicilian oenology, still tied to tradition and history of the land.
Considering the connection to the island, there is a focus on indigenous Sicilian grape varieties like Nero d’Avola, Insolia and Grillo, but these sometimes find partners in French varieties like Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. Cusumano is among the top ten wineries to visit in Sicily, as selected by Stephen Brook – Decanter Magazine UK.
