Vermouth del Cavaliere is a revival of an historic recipe created by the Vena family in the late 19th century, a few years after the creation of Amaro Lucano. Production ceased during the First World War and the vermouth disappeared for decades before being reintroduced by the Lucano family as part of the Cavalier Vena range. The label design is inspired by an early 1900s illustration depicting a knight returning from a long journey to claim his reward.

Produced in Italy at 18% ABV, Vermouth del Cavaliere is based on red wine and infused with a carefully selected blend of herbs, botanicals and spices. The style is traditional Rosso Vermouth, balancing sweetness with herbal bitterness and aromatic complexity.

“The Mediterranean herbs in particular are complex on the nose. A fine acid structure contributes to the complexity on the palate. Exciting alternation of spiciness and fruit on the finish.” 94 points, Falstaff
