We had some air-freighted samples of these wines out in the trade about a month ago, and the container has finally arrived with our first shipment of this value-driven brand of specially sourced pan-Italian wines. Those who were lucky enough to sample them are already knocking on our door for the Pinot Grigio, which is a stunningly full-flavoured example of the style. Our first red joining this range is the Sangiovese, which is from Italy’s food basket, Emilia Romagna. This Rubicone IGT wine has a little more body than the lower-priced Chianti DOCGs, but still those bright cherry notes and earthy contrast we’re all looking for in a Sangio.
