Kellerei-Cantina Andrian works with growers spread over 80 hectares between 260 and 800m above sea level in the DOC area on the western side of the Adige River. The soils are limestone-rich providing depth and tension to the wines. Despite its location between Trento and the Alps, the climate here is quite Mediterranean, but also benefits from cool evenings in the ripening period due to downslope breezes from Mount Gantkofel.
Kellerai Andrian’s slopes at around 260-380m above sea level are devoted to Pinot Grigio. The free-draining, calcium-rich soils here ensure excellent mineral uptake by the vines and a consistency of intense varietal character year after year, while the gentle climactic conditions allow the grapes to ripen slowly and fully to a point where primary fruit flavour is always generous. After a harvest by hand, fermentation was at controlled temperature in stainless steel vats, followed by maturation on fine lees for 6 months.

“Flavours of pear candy, white peaches and a hint of flowers. Light and lively with a polished texture and tasty length. Less simple than it appears at first glance.” 91 points, James Suckling
2023 (Pinot Grigio Alto Adige DOC)
“To say it up front: This is one of the most linear and crystalline Pinot Gris that I have tasted here so far. Mineral and herbal bouquet, cool and taut rather than pleasing, delicate pear and herbal notes. In the mouth, it scores with crystalline juiciness, a fine melt and the typical spiciness with chalky hints. Certainly one of the best Pinot Gris in South Tyrol.” 18/20 Weinwisser
