Only available on-premise in Italy, Balbi Soprani’s entire range is designed for the table—food friendly wines with delicate balance and immediate approachability, and pricing to make them pourable by the glass. Even the Barolo wines, which traditionally would need many years in the cellar before they are open for business, here have an ethereal and velvety nature to counter the regions’ robust structure.
The grapes are sourced from Balbi Soprani’s tight network of growers in the Barolo DOCG. Traditionally made and aged for a minimum of two years in a combination of chestnut wood and oak, the wines are then selectively blended and aged extensively in bottle before release. Look for Balbi’s signature potpourri notes offset by savoury graphite and leather aromas and flavours.
