Giodo

Two terroirs, one vision: precision winemaking from Montalcino to Etna.

Giodo is a family-owned estate founded by Carlo Ferrini in Montalcino, Tuscany, representing the realisation of a long-held ambition to produce site-specific wines from carefully selected vineyards. The project began in 2000 with the acquisition of land between Sant’Angelo in Colle and Castelnuovo dell’Abate, one of the key areas for Brunello di Montalcino. Today, the estate focuses primarily on Sangiovese in Montalcino, working exclusively with selected clones and a vineyard-driven approach. This vision has been extended through Alberelli di Giodo, a small-scale project on Mount Etna in Sicily, where indigenous varieties are cultivated at high altitude on volcanic soils. Together, these projects reflect a precise and site-focused philosophy across two distinct Italian terroirs.
