Established in 1996, the winery’s home base at Light Pass centres around an 1850s blacksmith’s cottage and estate plantings grown on the unique Gibson Schulz trellis system co‑invented by Rob. The site sits around 280 metres above sea level and reflects a historical landscape shaped by early German emigrants who established mixed vineyards in the area.
