Balbi Soprani Nebbiolo d’Alba DOC

Nebbiolo is a noble and ancient variety that has been grown in the hills of Alba for centuries. It’s named after the autumn fog, ‘nebbia’, typically found in the Langhe at harvest time.

The most famous (and most expensive) Nebbiolos in the world can be found in this region, the long-lived, firmly structured and muscular Barolo wines. Although this is also from Piedmont, fruit selection and a more hands-off winemaking approach make this an easier Nebbiolo to approach when young.

Expect a delicate fragrance recalling violets and wild strawberries. The bouquet brings in cherries and ferrous notes across a dry and harmonious palate with velvety structure. Partner with red meats, particularly game.
