Cordero Di Montezemolo Barbera d’Alba DOC

The Barbera is sourced from various vineyards of the Monfalletto estate in Lamorrese and Roero. The fruit sees a primary fermentation in stainless steel and malolactic in wood, then is matured in a combination of French and Slovenian oak for approximately six months.

The differing altitudes and exposures, soil types and vine ages, lend a complexity of flavours and aromas to the resulting wine, which is always vibrant and medium-bodied in style. Black and purple fruits are contrasted with earthy/mineral tones and floral lift with excellent freshness and balance.

2023

“…Laced with expressive red-toned fruit, spice, cedar and crushed flowers. Delicate and understated, the 2023 is all class. Attractive floral notes lift the finish effortlessly.” 90 points, Antonio Galloni, Vinous

2022

“Bright and lively in the glass. Lifted aromas of dark cherry, blackberry, anise, dried flowers, violets and spice. Generously flavoured, with plenty of plum, mulberry and sweet spice at the core. The tannins are firm and drying and the acidity brings ping and zip. Smart drinking.” 92 points, Aaron Brasher, The Real Review
