Drawing from its origins in northeastern Italy, this Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso comes from the villages of Corno di Rosazzo, Premariacco, Cividale del Friuli and Faedis. Translating as “Refosco with the red stems”, vibrant acidity and a flavour spectrum of savoury florals, herbs and cherries define the variety. The fruit is fermented and matured entirely in stainless steel to preserve natural buoyancy and freshness.

In the glass, the wine shows a dark, brooding colour that contrasts beautifully with its lifted, juicy and lighter-bodied palate. The nose offers briary fruit, raspberries, subtle liquorice and violets, leading into an open, expressive mouthful of purple fruit, dried herbs and almost electric minerality. Freshness and savoury primary fruit carry through to a salivating finish, making it an excellent match for fat-rich fish, white meats and tomato-based dishes.
