Duca Catemario Pinot Grigio Collio DOC

Grown in the western edge of the arc that covers the Collio DOC, the climate around Corno di Rosazzo is mild and protected. After harvest, the fruit had a short maceration on skins at a low temperature, just enough time to bring body and structure. Fermentation was in stainless steel, also at cool temperatures, and the wine then matured for several months on lees until spring.

The resultant wine is both ripe and vibrant, with an intense straw colour and hints of Pinot Grigio’s copper skins. The nose is perfumed and floral, with a full citrus spectrum offset by herbal hay notes and whispers of pear. In the mouth it is well balanced, silky and savoury; texture and elegance the main features.

“Honeyed tones mix with fresh thyme and green apples, although the palate tends to be more strict and reserved than the nose suggests… a pleasing up-front white.” Recommended, Gabrielle Poy, The Real Review
