This is 100% Gewurztraminer from high-altitude vineyards in Alto Adige (around 530m) and cropped to very low yields to maximise concentration. Produced using the traditional passito method, the grapes are partially dried before a short maceration and gentle pressing, followed by fermentation and maturation in barrique for approximately 11 months. The resulting wine carries high residual sugar (~170 g/L) balanced by firm acidity, delivering both richness and structure, and offering notable ageing potential of 10–20 years.
2024
While the 2024 vintage itself is newly released, this Juvelo cuvée has built a strong reputation across recent vintages for its quality and consistency, regularly achieving high critical ratings and widely respected as a flagbearer for dessert wines in the area. It’s intensely aromatic, with layers of honey, vanilla, quince and candied orange peel, complemented by varietal rose petal and lychee tones. The palate is rich and slightly viscous, with sweetness beautifully counterbalanced by acidity. The finish is long, complex and perfumed, carrying lingering notes of spice, citrus peel and dried fruit.
