Celebrating its 22nd edition, wines from 57 countries were evaluated by 248 top international experts, including 22 Master Sommeliers and 72 Masters of Wine. The world standard for an international wine competition, DWWA serves as the go-to source for comprehensive and authoritative wine recommendations (and even better, you don’t need a subscription to view the results).
From Australia, we had two gold medals from Howard Park – a twin award for their dynamic duo, the 2022 Abercrombie and 2023 Allingham. From Northern Italy, Kellerei-Cantina Andrian fared very well, with the 2022 Doran picking up gold and the 2023 Andrius Sauvignon, 2022 Anrar Pinot Noir and 2022 Tor Di Lupo all taking away silver. Masi backed up its 2020 (currently available) Campofiorin silver from 2024’s competition, with another silver for the 2021 this year.
Last, but definitely not least, you’ll be happy to know we have some Donnachiara wines on the water, a suite of Campagna reds and whites, due to arrive in September. In the bundle is the 2021 Taurasi, which picked up a Best in Show Trophy for the new Campagna Category. And, to show this new producer being welcomed into the arms of the Alepat Taylor family really knows its Aglianico, their 2020 Taurasi Riserva also picked up a Platinum award. We only have a few dozen of each coming, so please get onto us quickly if this is something you’d like to explore.
