With five generations of renown in the region, Medici Ermete is firmly entrenched in the food basket of Italy, Emilia Romagna. The climate here is warm and sunny in summer, while winters are severe with fog enveloping the plains and snow often falling on the hills. The estate is organically and sustainably managed, and covers 80 hectares over five key vineyards – four in Reggio Emilia (including the flagship Lambrusco Salamino site that contributes to Concerto) and one in Modena (which provides the grapes for Phermento)

Specialising in Lambrusco, Medici Ermete has a close link between the territory and the wines produced there. Rigorous selection of grapes, at the cost of a yield per hectare 30 to 40% lower than the DOC regulations, produces wines of unprecedented quality. The Medicis take the Lambrusco grape where you’ve never seen it before and have a string of Gambero Rosso Tre Bicchieri awards stretching back over a decade to prove it.
