Le Potazzine

Minemal-intervention, pure, biodynamic Sangiovese from Montalcino

Le Potazzine is a small estate of only about five hectares, divided between Brunello di Montalcino DOCG and just a few kilometres to the south at Sant’Angelo in Colle. The vines sit at 507 and 420 meters above sea level respectively and were planted between 15 and 30 years ago. The Potazzine team focus on minimal-intervention wines, with only natural yeast fermentations and minimal wood influence. The Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino are both certified organic.

Monica Larner (Wine Advocate) has said “Le Potazzine Gorelli always delivers a delicate touch with its territory-inspired wines.” This hands-off approach coupled with neutral maturation vessels makes for ethereal, perfumed and savoury expressions of Sangiovese, quite unlike many of the wines to be found in the area.
